New Category on Webhamer Weblog
As all enthousiast developers and IT-professionals I roam the web every day in search of new trends, softwaredevelopment and news about search etc.
During those quests for information I stumble upon interesting articles and sites I like to read more about, but haven’t got the time to do that right away. Of course there are plenty of sites that support the function of storing links (stumble upon, del.icio.us, Yahoo Myweb etc.), but I wanted to store the sites etc. that I want to visit later a bit nearer to me. It’s a kind of “todo” list and the subjects concerning the sites will probably belong to a subject on this blog (or I wouldn’t be so interested).
So I decided to store the links on my own blog and put them in a category “linkblog”. This category only contains content form other sites with no comment from me. With the tagging feature of Wordpress I can order the subjects.
LinkBlogUsing Tags in WordPress
Since I am using Wordpress as my blogging tool I wanted to use tags besides the flat-layered Categories. The use of Categories is good and needed because they structure your site and topics in a hierarchical way and offer an easy way to navigate through your posts.
Tags however are more versatile and can contain any subject, word or theme you come up with while writing a post. With tags you can metadata your posts in a more flexible way.
I recommend the use of both ways for structuring your posts because categories are not the same as tags.
I stumbled upon a review from Lorelle on Wordpress on the Ultimate Tag Warrior. That’s the plugin I am going to use from now on. The first tags on this site are below.

Cleaning my Blogroll
Net even rigoreus door mijin Blogroll gegaan.

Bloglines | My Feeds (3239) (140)
Busy analyzing my blogroll and favorites to sort out the most valuable sites and feeds to share with you. As you can see I still have 3239 posts to reed and still have 140 posts that I have saved for future reading. Bloglines still is the best online tool for keeping up with RSS feeds. I’m using it for 3 years now. This is a long time for someone who changes his personal homepage twice a year ![]()
