Shift in Search: Microsoft wants Yahoo
A couple of days ago, right before I went to bed, some breaking news got to me: Microsoft has put a $44 billion on the head of Yahoo!.
This news follows the recent buy of Fast, also by Microsoft. Of course the question is how this will affect the position of Google in time. But also we must not forget that Yahoo is into many other things than search.
Furthermore IBM has an alliance with Yahoo! to bring the free IBM Omnifind Yahoo edition to the enterprise. How will this relationship continue now Microsoft will have control of Yahoo?
The world of search is really starting to shake, rattle and roll.
