We are very proud of the fact that we are entitled to call ourselves "THE" Herring House. Our restaurant originates from 1933. We are the oldest place selling herring in Scheveningen.

We are one of the few companies where craftsmanship is still very common. With hard soul and everything is hand-cleaned, prepared and cooked. You can taste it!

We hope to welcome you in our restaurant. It will be a pleasure to serve you the mouth watering seafood straight from The North Sea. The Herring House is located at the harbour of Schevingen and the boulevard. You can easily spot our restaurant while taking a stroll around the habour or on the beach.

The Herring House feels very strongly about their herring therefore we pay a lot of attention to the preparing and cleaning of the herring. Next to our famous herring you will find a great variety of succulent seafood such as muscles, plaice, cod and of course the famous Dutch “kibbelings”.

Take away dinners are no problem for The Herring House. We gladly wrap the fish or meal of your choice using cold elements and/or vacuum sealing. We ensure you, your meal will stay fresh for several hours.
